Description: To clean, prepare and cook food for the restaurant, employee dining room, snack bar and banquet rooms within established standards of quality. Wash all dishes, utensils, machinery, equipment and appliances used in food service operations Assist cooks and chef in simple food preparation and stocking food in employee dining roomAssist in and stocking and store food and cleaning supplies as directed by chefs Properly dispose of all garbage and recyclables
Qualifications: License/Certifications Required: Possession of a valid California driver's license
Performance Criteria: Ensure safe work practices are used at all times. Work Conditions: Primarily inside work within a restaurant kitchen environment requiring standing (for up to 8 hours per day), bending, pushing, pulling, talking and using manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination. Exposure to all elements of a restaurant kitchen, including loud noise, cooking fumes, cleaning chemicals, airborne particles, microwave radiation and machine vibration Some outside work required Must be able to lift 50 pounds Work Characteristics: Will be required to work on a shift basis, including weekends, evenings and holidays Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to maintain organization and a positive attitude Professional and Technical Knowledge: Understanding and knowledge of food and beverage industry as it relates to job functionMinimum of six months of experience in a professional kitchen Proficient in using cleaning supplies and machinery, including but not limited to industrial dish washing machines, brooms, mops, and cleaning solutions Skills: Organization Communication and Interpersonal (must be able to work well in a team-oriented environment Quick evaluation and decision making Comprehension of English language preferred Time Considerations: Must be able to meet deadlines as required Work efficiently with minimal supervisionEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
